The cabins have large picture windows that exploit natural light in the day time, while also providing breath-taking views of the setting and the rising of the sun on the river as it displays its golden hues on the powder blue waters of the Brahmaputra and the little country boats that dance in the shimmering light. The 5 deck MV Mahabaahu offers large public spaces on the open Sun deck with canopy for shade and a 360 degree view, the second deck and the swimming pool deck with sun beds to laze around and seating to enjoy beverages while gazing at the sand bars, villages and village-folk, fishermen in narrow country boats are seen throwing out nets with expert flourish, yellow-mustard fields, cylindrical beetle-nut and flourishing bamboo groves or a rhino, a buffalo, an elephant, some fresh water dolphins and some deer enjoying the lush river banks. Or, if lucky even a tiger.

No Individual Tipping for any on shore and off shore crew. Envelopes will be put in your cabin, the evening before the day of departure and you could tip the crew, the naturalist and if you’ve used the SPA facilities as per the policy in the cabin folder.

Tea/Coffee/cookies and hot water kettle facilities are available in each cabin. The washrooms have the complete toiletries, toothpaste, toothbrush, razor, handwash, bodywash, shampoo, conditioner and lotion.
Catch some drinks at the bar and lounge or, at the open bar on the sun-deck. Then, relish Indian, Continental and Oriental delicacies made using locally sourced ingredients in the ship’s restaurant. The cruise also has an onboard bakery that bakes fresh breads, donuts, croissants, lavaash and more every morning. On board home-made ice-creams and desserts add to the delight.
Once you are onboard, the ship is your home for the 7 nights with us. Feel free to tour the ship and understand the functions with prior appointment with the reception. All meals, excursions, activities on board and offshore are as per the itinerary handed out to the guests. We gather each evening for an hour to enjoy some drinks and then proceed to dinner. All talks and announcements for the program the following day are generally after the sunset.
For those times when you want to relax and reflect, the lower deck has a Jacuzzi, Sauna, and Steam room. There is also a Massage room where you can choose which treatment from our certified masseurs you prefer.

MV Mahabaahu organises jeep safaris in the UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE site of Kaziranga National Park, and boat safaris on the Eastern Range besides showcasing the diverse heritage of the weaving communities, the Mishings tribals living on stilted chang ghars and the neo-Vaishnavite Gayan Bayan and Maati Akhora spiritual dances, Mukha Bhavana and Dashavtar religious theatre in Majuli. The cruise between Guwahati and Jorhat also incorporates visits to a jute mill, Ahomiya monuments at Sibsagar, and bonfire evenings on deserted islands as it sails in the shadow of snow-covered Himalayan peaks viewed on clear days. The tea tasting on a home-hosted visit with a Planter’s family in Jorhat and the experience of walking through the tea-gardens and interacting with the tea-pluckers while enjoying Bihu, the state traditional dance of Assam at Silghat. MV Mahabaahu’s Naturalist and Destination Manager holds talks and orientations prior to each visit to introduce you to the culture of the area, the community and the norms of sharing the space.
